Vaillant's smart technology: myVAILLANT connect internet gateway, sensoCOMFORT control and myVAILLANT smarthome app.

UK consumers are increasingly benefiting from the convenience and control offered by smart heating technology in their homes.

According to Statista, more than 62% of British homes have some smart home technology installed – and this is forecast to rise to 100% by 2028.

As a Vaillant installer, you have a head start in this rapidly growing market. Vaillant manufactures some of the most advanced, easy-to-use smart heating products in the industry.

“Vaillant smart-home technology delivers tangible benefits to customers and installers today,” says Mike Lacey, Head of Digital Technology at Vaillant. “But it’s also an on-ramp to the digital future of heating and hot water.

“By embracing this technology now, installers get in on the ground of a rapidly expanding market. They learn the skills they need to make sure their business will thrive far into the future.”

The benefits of Vaillant’s smart heating products

Vaillant’s range of smart heating products includes the new ecoTEC plus boiler, the myVAILLANT connect internet gateway, and the sensoHOME, sensoCOMFORT,sensoROOM and sensoROOM pure controls.

These products can ‘talk’ to each other via Vaillant’s eBUS technology, allowing the appliances to share data with each other and the myVAILLANT and myVAILLANT Pro apps.

Thanks to eBUS, the homeowner can control every aspect of how their heating and hot water works. They can put the whole home on a timer, set different zones to different temperatures, see and adjust their energy usage, and more.

Plus, with the senso range of digital, wall-mounted thermostats, they can do all of this without having to get up from their seat. Using the myVAILLANT app, the homeowner can perform the same tasks from anywhere: the sofa, the patio, or even the Costa del Sol, if they want to adjust their heating while they’re on holiday.

Smart heating isn’t just good for homeowners. By using myVAILLANT Pro, it can also provide you, the installer, with the information you need to turn jobs around faster, with fewer on-site visits and less time to completion.

Once your customer has given their consent to provide remote access to their appliance, you can see if a fault may occur on their heating appliance before it even happens. You can also see in advance what parts and tools you’ll need to repair any issues, should they happen.

And because you, the homeowner and Vaillant all have access to the same information via the apps, it’s easier for our engineers to support you when you need help.

Easy to install and integrate

You can learn how to install Vaillant’s smart heating products through our online or in-person training courses, provided through the Vaillant Academy.

But with the myVAILLANT connect internet gateway, it really couldn’t be easier. You simply connect the gateway – the system’s brain – to the Vaillant boiler or heat pump using the plug-and-play eBUS connector, switch it on and then switch on the smart control.

The sensoROOM control is pre-paired with the gateway, so as soon as you switch them on, the two devices wirelessly connect with each other – without you having to lift a finger.

All you need to do then is show the homeowner how to use their control and how to connect to it via the myVAILLANT app, using the step-by-step instructions for both.

As well as controlling their heating and hot water through their mobile device or the smart thermostat, the homeowner can also use smart-home platforms such as Apple HomeKit and Amazon Alexa to control single heating-zone systems.

Integration with these platforms is easy, taking just a few clicks. And if you need help with any part of the install and setup, Vaillant engineers are only ever a phone call away.

"myVAILLANT Pro notifies you if the system develops a fault, provides you with diagnostic data and gives you the ability to fix many problems remotely”

Information at your fingertips

Another way Vaillant smart heating products make your life easier is by providing you with all the information you need to get the job done faster and with minimum hassle.

Specifically for installers, myVAILLANT Pro is available via mobile apps for iOS and Android, as well as via the browser on your computer. It provides you with the same data you’d see if you were stood in front of the boiler or heat pump, so you can understand exactly how the system is performing.

You can also use myVAILLANT Pro to book a service appointment with the customer. It’ll remind you when services are due, helping you to plan your time and stay on top of customer appointments.

Plus, myVAILLANT Pro also notifies you if the boiler or any other part of the system develops a fault, provides you with diagnostic data, and gives you the ability to fix problems remotely – so you can get more done in less time by working smarter.
