The Bolton-based project was designed to improve the energy efficiency of the community centre, with the intention of lowering running costs for the users of the building space. Ultimately, the end goal was to allow the local community to effectively allocate its limited funds towards facilities, services and training, rather than unnecessary energy costs.
The original heating system was installed when the building was first constructed over fifty years ago in 1964, so it was crucial to renew the system in its entirety. Vaillant’s ecoTEC plus 48kW boiler was selected for the job due to its many energy saving features. Built with a high efficiency, stainless steel heat exchanger, the ecoTEC plus offers an impressive 94 per cent efficiency rating, translating to lower running costs for the end user. Furthermore, the addition of advanced modulation during periods of low heat demand ensures that the system only consumes low levels of energy, with maximised efficiency.
As part of Vaillant’s commitment to supporting local communities, Vaillant designed and commissioned the system at no additional cost and supplied several accessories free of charge. This included a VRC 700 system control pack, which not only offers ultimate ease of use for the end user, but includes weather compensating technology to effortlessly ensure the appliance works at optimum efficiency.
