Vaillant Renewables Projects Shortlisted Again!

Vaillant UK is proud to announce that two of its flagship renewables projects have been nominated for two categories at the ASCP Safety and Compliance Awards.

Once again, the projects shortlisted are in the categories of Partnership and Collaboration of the Year (with Derby Homes) and Renewables Project of the Year. Both are projects where heat pumps have been installed in innovative ways in social housing.

For the nomination in the Partnership and Collaboration of the Year category, Vaillant worked with Derby Homes to install aroTHERM air-to-water heat pumps on the balconies of flats in a high rise building. Vaillant and Derby Homes worked closely together during every part of the project and the tenants have seen a reduction in their fuel bills and can still enjoy the use of their balconies.

The nomination for the Renewables Project of the Year category was for a ground source heat pump project with Bromford, a social housing provider in Solihull. For this project, Vaillant created a plant room in a shipping container for the equipment required to heat 24 flats in a Victorian building. This ‘Energy Centre’ contains three 38kW geoTHERM heat pumps, two 1,000 litre buffer cylinders a twin headed brine pump and the custom controls required to complete the installation by J Tomlinson Ltd. Now that the Energy Centre has been installed and connected to the heating system for the building, the tenants’ energy bills have been reduced as well as the emissions from the building.

John Bailey, Sales Director – Commercial and Renewable Systems said, “Vaillant’s renewable sales managers are always looking for innovative ways to install technologies. They work closely with social housing providers and installers to realise the benefits of renewable heating for the landlords and tenants, which include lower energy bills and reduced emissions. We’re delighted to have these innovations recognised by institutions such as ASCP.”

The ASCP Safety and Compliance Awards ceremony will take place on April 24th at Celtic Manor in Newport, Wales.
