Vaillant’s New Green Machine Shortlisted for Award

The new aroTHERM plus air-to-water heat pump with uniTOWER has made an impressive debut in the UK renewables heating market. Launched in June, it has marked its arrival with a nomination as a finalist in the Innovation category of the 2020 BusinessGreen Leaders Awards.

The aroTHERM plus impressed the judges with its outstanding eco credentials. It uses Vaillant’s most cutting-edge heat pump technology yet, using the natural refrigerant R290 to achieve an incredibly low carbon footprint that increases efficiency whilst having a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just three. This is astonishingly low when compared to the GWP of 2,088 for R410a, the most commonly used refrigerant in heat pumps.

When coupled with the pioneering technology employed across all Vaillant heating appliances, the aroTHERM plus achieves sound power as low as 54dB(A), meaning it can even be used in high density housing, such as terraces. Retro-fitting is a synch thanks to meticulous attention to detail during the design process, as expected from Vaillant’s engineers. It’s no surprise that the judges at BusinessGreen agree that the aroTHERM plus with uniTOWER really is a game changer in the world of renewable heating.

John Bailey, Head of Sales for Commercial and Renewable Systems at Vaillant UK was delighted, “We know we’ve got a really special solution in the world of renewable heating with the aroTHERM plus with uniTOWER. Our Research and Development team in Remscheid, Germany has created a product that delivers everything the market needs right now in terms of high flow rates, efficiencies, durability, and flexibility. The design and performance of this air-to-water heat pump demonstrates our commitment to ensuring we remain a world leader in heating appliance technologies, now and for the future.”
