Vaillant Group UK Supports Whitemoor Day Centre
Vaillant Group UK welcomed members of the Whitemoor Day Centre community to its site this week. They were here doing therapeutic work helping with the spring planting round the site.
Whitemoor Day Centre provides opportunities for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities, autism and complex needs to access activities and gain skills within the local community. There is a skilled staff team that are able to support up to 100 people. The support given by these staff ensures their members have access to a variety of activities, including yoga, sailing, cooking, arts and craft and sensory rooms.
One of the most popular activities enjoyed at Whitemoor is the Garden Project. This provides varied opportunities for people on all levels in the garden environment. The project is self-sufficient with its own bank account and the plants and vegetables are all sold locally. Vaillant Group is one of the Garden Project’s regular customers, having bought most of its plant stocks from the project for many years.
Gemma Shaw, Head of HR at Vaillant Group UK said, “Vaillant was delighted to have members from the Whitemoor Day Centre here this week. Not only have they grown these plants themselves, they have planted them out into our gardens. We take great pride in maintaining our grounds at a high standard. It’s fantastic to see the Garden Project team from Whitemoor contributing even more than usual to keeping our grounds looking beautiful and in good condition. We can’t thank them enough.”
